One of the new additions to our equipment list is a Leica HDS 3000 High Definition 3D Field Survey Laser. It enables us to take 40,000 shots (angles and distance) per minute. It provides our clients with an amazingly accurate 3D point drawing, fully compatible with our AutoCAD LDD 2004 software.
White River – Electron Heights, Alderton, Washington. This project is an excellent example of the unification of utility, boundary, hydrographic, and three dimensional high definition surveying (Leica 3D High Definition System 3000, collecting more than 40,000 northings, eastings and elevations per minute) to provide our client with a 9-mile electrical corridor starting at the Alderton Substation and meandering cross country to the Rhodes Lake Substation. The deliverables for this project included 9-miles of plan and profile sheets, detailed survey of utilities, including aerial, insulators, and catenaries, along with an aquatic crossing easement survey and detailed drawings of the substation complexes. The substations were scanned and provided the electrical engineers options in aligning out of the substations. The boundary surveys included reconstruction of 43 lots and new easements, along with detailed legal descriptions and parcel take exhibits. In spite of numerous alignment alterations all the work was completed in a two month period.
