APS Survey & Mapping Announces Appointment of
Vice President
Scott Edwards, PLS, MBA, Named Vice President
Bellevue, Wash. —January 11, 2011— APS Survey & Mapping, a leader in the surveying industry in Washington State, today announced the appointment of Scott Edwards, PLS, MBA, as Vice President and significant owner in the company. This change is designed to strengthen the APS team and commitment to their clients.
“Scott has been such an integral part of our team since he joined us two years ago,” said Tyler Sweet, PLS, Principal, APS Survey & Mapping. After Edwards joined APS in August of 2009, he began an aggressive plan to update the company’s equipment with the most recent in survey and mapping innovation. Their new Leica 1201 fully robotic instruments and Trimble R8.3 GPS receivers (capable of utilizing the American GPS, Russian Glonass and European Galileo Satellites) add to field operation. He also began a company-wide plan to improve employee training and recruit talented surveyors and CADD technicians. Edwards works directly with clients; teaming with them to scope and schedule projects, taking each project from conception to completion. His hands-on approach to surveying has gained the admiration of all of APS.
Edwards brings more than 15 years of land-surveying experience to APS. In 2004, he became a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Washington. He started managing survey projects that same year. Since graduating in 1997 from Renton Technical College, Edwards continued his education ultimately earning a Master of Business Administration from City University of Seattle in 2004.
